What You Will Be Doing:
- Serve as a subject matter expert in network and application security, representing the department on complex security assignments
- Design and develop security solutions that meet business objectives within the Network Security team
- Perform end-to-end application security analysis on solutions, identifying security gaps and recommending configuration improvements
- Create custom threat signatures and implement security configuration changes
- Ensure existing infrastructure and configuration standards are maintained during project delivery
- Monitor security events and triage alerts across various security platforms
- Investigate security breaches and cybersecurity incidents, following through to resolution
- Monitor email and ticketing systems for security-related issues
- Conduct packet captures (PCAPs) and interpret results for security analysis
- Provide on-call and after-hours support for security operations
- Collaborate with multiple teams across different levels of the organization
- Evaluate technology effectiveness through requirements gathering, testing, research, and investigation
- Make recommendations for security improvements that increase quality and effectiveness
- Listen to and evaluate customer needs to provide high-quality security solutions
- Model API requests using tools such as Postman and understand API attack vectors
- Interpret components of web requests and responses for security analysis
- Write and review business, user, and non-functional/system-level requirements
- Manage conflicting priorities effectively while meeting tight deadlines
Required Skills & Experience:
- Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without requirement for work authorization sponsorship
- Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily responsibilities
- Minimum 3 years of related professional experience in information security or a related field
- 1+ years of hands-on experience with Web Application Firewall (WAF) administration
- 1+ years of experience using a Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) system
- Ability to model API requests using tools such as Postman
- Understanding of API attack vectors and web request/response components
- Strong knowledge of system architecture and network applications
- Familiarity with OWASP & API OWASP Top 10 security frameworks
- Experience investigating security breaches and cybersecurity incidents
- Ability to perform packet captures (PCAPs) and interpret results
- Demonstrated experience writing and reviewing technical requirements
- Strong understanding of DNS, networking, analysis, and system administration
- Knowledge of common application frameworks and cryptography
- Proven ability to manage conflicting priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Willingness to provide on-call/after-hours support
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field
- Experience with Akamai or Imperva WAF solutions
- Understanding of scripting and content creation (Splunk dashboards, threat signature creation, Python scripts, PowerShell scripts)
- Experience with automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform
- Cloud security operations experience including identity & access control, secure configuration management, network security, Infrastructure as Code, data security, and logging
- 1+ year experience securing cloud applications (AWS/Azure)
- Understanding of version control and ability to work in Git
- Experience managing and configuring bot mitigation platforms (e.g., Cequence Security)
- Strong communication and conceptual skills with a desire to share knowledge and cross-train
- Comfortable facilitating sessions with stakeholders, developers, and architects
Pay: $47.60 – $68.00 /hr.
