What You Will Be Doing:
We are seeking a WAF/Network and Application Security Engineer to join a dynamic IT team specializing in Web Application Firewall (WAF) and network security solutions. This role involves designing, configuring, and maintaining WAF technologies, analyzing application security, and implementing custom threat signatures to ensure robust application and network security. The position offers opportunities for career growth within network security, engineering, and architecture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage Web Application Firewall (WAF) configurations.
- Analyze and address application security gaps end-to-end.
- Develop and manage custom threat signatures.
- Investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents.
- Monitor and triage alerts across various security platforms.
- Ensure adherence to infrastructure and configuration standards.
- Provide on-call and after-hours support in a rotation.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 3+ years of related professional experience.
- Hands-on experience with WAF/WAAP administration.
- Strong knowledge of DNS, network applications, and system architecture.
- Familiarity with OWASP and API OWASP Top 10.
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk).
- Ability to analyze web requests and API attacks.
- Experience with SSL certificates.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, or related field.
- Experience with Akamai or Imperva WAF solutions.
- Knowledge of scripting (Python, PowerShell) and automation tools (Ansible, Terraform).
- Cloud security experience (AWS/Azure).
- Understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Packet capture (PCAP) analysis skills.
- Familiarity with Client-Side Protection (CSP) platforms.
Pay: $49 – $70 /yr.
