What You Will Be Doing:
We are seeking a skilled Senior Software Analyst to join our Cloud Data Engineering team. In this role, you will evaluate business requests, identify options, and recommend software development solutions. You will interpret customer requirements into design specifications and play a key role in shaping product design by gathering and maintaining business and functional requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate business requests for feasibility, identify viable options, and recommend optimal solutions for software development or enhancements within the cloud data environment.
- Gather, interpret, review, validate, document, and maintain business and functional requirements for data products and services.
- Translate customer requirements into conceptual and logical design specifications.
- Utilize SQL queries extensively to perform gap analysis, risk assessment, data validation, and functional testing.
- Perform detailed data mapping activities essential for data migration, integration, transformation, and warehousing projects.
- Actively investigate, interpret, collaborate on, and document application/service functionality from a business perspective.
- Support and troubleshoot team applications and data products, identifying root causes and resolving issues.
- Assist in developing interfaces and prototypes; recommend changes to meet requirements.
- Research and document application/service issues, standards, and potential process improvements.
- Participate in regression testing, release testing, and ensure new software releases are production-ready, providing end-user documentation.
- Collaborate effectively with software development team members to communicate a detailed understanding of requirements.
- Provide instruction and guidance to less senior team members on new tasks and assignments.
- Ensure business goals and objectives are understood and addressed through system enhancements, process improvements, and issue resolution.
- Adhere to data security standards and best practices in all activities.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Must demonstrate a strong commitment to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a software analyst, business analyst, or data analyst role.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on SQL experience for data querying, analysis, and validation.
- Proven experience in data mapping and data validation techniques.
- Experience working within Agile or KANBAN software development methodologies.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Visio for documentation and presentation.
- Basic knowledge of project tracking systems like JIRA/Confluence or similar tools.
- Familiarity with software testing concepts (regression testing, release testing) and system troubleshooting.
- Experience working with enterprise-wide systems and complying with data security standards.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to create clear, concise, and detailed documentation for system design and processes.
- Demonstrated ability to identify root causes and conduct initial investigations into problems.
- Proven experience communicating and collaborating effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including management and technical teams.
- Must exhibit strong personal ownership, accountability, and problem-solving skills.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
- Experience writing SQL queries against various database platforms such as Teradata, Oracle, and/or SQL Server.
- Experience with API requirements analysis and design documentation.
- Experience with or a strong willingness to learn and adapt to new cloud technologies and platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP data services).
Pay: $42.00 -$60.00 /hr.
