What You Will Be Doing:
We are seeking a Senior Engineer – DBA, Cloud Data Engineer to lead and execute complex database engineering projects, particularly in cloud environments. This role involves migrating existing data platforms to the cloud and developing new data pipelines. You will leverage your technical expertise with Microsoft Azure Cloud PaaS technologies to optimize data solutions, support business decisions, and meet customer needs. The ideal candidate is a technical expert who thrives in collaborative, fast-paced environments and is passionate about data engineering and performance optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead migrations of data platform solutions to cloud environments, particularly Azure.
  • Develop, test, and optimize data pipelines using T-SQL and cloud-native tools.
  • Engineer data solutions that enhance decision-making capabilities and customer outcomes.
  • Automate database workflows and processes to improve efficiency and manage costs.
  • Troubleshoot performance issues and implement schema refinements.
  • Analyze and resolve complex database issues in real-time.
  • Participate in Agile team practices and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Join the on-call rotation for critical database operations support.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Cosmos DB.
  • Proficiency in T-SQL and scripting for data workflows.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud workflows and DB systems (e.g., Managed SQL Instance, Databricks Delta Lake).
  • Knowledge of Big Data solutions like Databricks Delta Lake and SQL DBMSs.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting database performance and optimizing query tuning.
  • Experience with configuration management and automation tools (e.g., Git, Jenkins, Bitbucket).
  • Ability to work effectively in both collaborative and independent settings.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure technologies such as Databricks, Event Hub, Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, and Delta Lake.
  • Knowledge of API development and JDBC connections.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and large-scale projects.
  • Familiarity with cost optimization strategies for cloud-based database systems.

Pay: $50.40 – $72 /hr.
