What You Will Be Doing:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join a dynamic team focused on leveraging data to drive agricultural innovation and sustainability. The role involves building distributed analysis capabilities, creating data-intensive APIs, and managing cloud-based infrastructure to support scientific datasets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain distributed analysis tools for diverse datasets.
- Build and support data-intensive RESTful APIs.
- Handle stream processing using Apache Kafka.
- Ensure robust unit testing and adhere to Test-Driven Development (TDD).
- Manage containerized deployments using Docker.
- Build and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure platforms.
- Conduct data modeling for large-scale relational or NoSQL databases.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 7+ years in software engineering.
- 2+ years in Go programming.
- Expertise in building RESTful APIs and stream processing with Apache Kafka.
- Experience with Docker and cloud infrastructure management.
- Proficiency in data modeling for large databases.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Familiarity with protocol buffers and gRPC.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform, Apache Beam, or Kubernetes.
- Background in bioinformatics or working with scientific datasets.
- Expertise in data mining and correlation of large-scale datasets.
Pay: $75.60 – $108.00 /yr.
