What You Will Be Doing:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Software Engineer (IT Engineer 3) to join our Cloud Data Engineering/Rental (CDER) team. In this critical role, you will play a key part in designing and developing cutting-edge data solutions that power our Rental business. You will lead a team of engineers, define technical roadmaps, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and secure data products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead estimating efforts in project planning and provide technical leadership to project teams.
  • Accurately scope deliverables, including technical dependencies, risks, and issues.
  • Provide guidance on technical matters to ensure solutions are secure, interoperable, and align with company strategy.
  • Collaborate with Architects, Engineers, and Analysts to improve Rental Domain Solutions, including quality and cost optimizations.
  • Establish and monitor Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to support client solutions.
  • Gather stakeholder needs and determine high-quality solutions that align with customer expectations.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor other engineers.
  • Protect our customers, employees, and brands by incorporating security and compliance in all decisions.
  • Subject matter expert in multiple areas of responsibility, representing the team within and outside the department.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in application development.
  • Understanding of Scala and willingness to learn.
  • 2+ years of experience with Python.
  • 2+ years of experience with SQL.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to identify and gather solution needs, perform risk analysis, and collaborate on architecture/solution design.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to operate independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Experience collaborating, developing, and maintaining deliverables.
  • Experience with large-scale data infrastructure (e.g., Azure, SQL Server, Databricks).
  • Commitment to incorporating security into all decisions.
  • Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship.
  • Must reside in the United States (excluding Alaska or Hawaii).
  • Must be able to work a schedule within U.S. Central Standard Time core business hours.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience with API Gateway services (e.g., Kong).
  • 2+ years of experience with Scala.

Pay: $105,000 – $150,000 /yr.
