What You Will Be Doing:

We are seeking an experienced and highly collaborative IT Project Manager 3 to join our Project Management Office (PMO). You will be responsible for leading complex, high-impact technology projects, partnering closely with program sponsors and diverse stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives and strategy. This role requires building strong advisory relationships, expertly managing project scope, resources, risks, and timelines, and ultimately delivering solutions that optimize business value. You will leverage expert knowledge of project management tools and methodologies to guide project teams and drive successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale, often transformational, IT application development projects.
  • Collaborate with sponsors and stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria, ensuring alignment with the overall business strategy.
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, resource allocation, and budgets.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, issues, and dependencies; lead the implementation of solutions in partnership with leadership.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among project teams, stakeholders, and leadership at all levels, including C-suite executives.
  • Manage project resources effectively, coordinating with functional managers, ensuring optimal utilization, and escalating constraints.
  • Oversee vendor relationships, manage vendor tasks and deliverables, ensure accountability, and participate in vendor selection processes.
  • Manage project change requests according to established governance processes.
  • Oversee quality assurance activities and ensure project deliverables meet defined standards.
  • Conduct project reviews and document lessons learned for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain a strong focus on security and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Build and foster strong, non-adversarial relationships, acting as a trusted partner across the organization.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 7 years of dedicated project management experience.
  • Proven track record managing large-scale, complex, transformational IT application development projects.
  • Advanced proficiency in project management methodologies, tools, and concepts (e.g., planning, execution, risk management, change control, implementation, support).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively interface with and present to all levels of management, including C-suite leaders.
  • Strong meeting facilitation skills tailored for senior leader participants.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong partnerships with diverse business stakeholders, leadership, and project team members.
  • Superb relationship management skills; viewed as a collaborative partner.
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically to solve complex problems, demonstrating decisiveness and sound judgment in ambiguous situations.
  • Experience working effectively in fast-paced environments, managing multiple competing tasks, deadlines, and demands.
  • High degree of collaboration and teamwork skills.
  • Understanding of security and compliance requirements in project delivery.
  • Must currently reside in the St. Louis, Missouri metropolitan area and possess the ability to work on-site at designated campus locations semi-regularly.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Experience with projects involving data strategy and/or analytics.
  • Knowledge and practical experience with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and CI/CD principles.
  • Proficiency with project management software such as MS Project, Project Web Application (PWA), JIRA, and Confluence.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong presentation skills and demonstrated executive presence.
  • Experience influencing stakeholders and navigating complex organizational dynamics with diplomacy.
  • Confidence, assertiveness, and technical competency.

Pay: $59.50 – $85.00 /hr.
