What You Will Be Doing:
We are seeking a creative and forward-thinking Innovation Design Specialist to drive ideation and design initiatives across projects. This role involves transforming consumer insights into actionable product, packaging, and service solutions aligned with strategic business needs. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on approach to developing concepts through sketching, modeling, and rapid prototyping. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, facilitate innovation workshops, and incorporate emerging trends and technologies into meaningful, consumer-centric innovations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead early-stage innovation processes, leveraging consumer and technical insights to create impactful solutions.
  • Plan and execute strategic and ideation workshops using diverse facilitation tools and techniques.
  • Develop concepts through sketching, 3D modeling, animations, and graphic design for product and packaging innovations.
  • Partner with consumer insights teams to identify and prioritize market opportunities.
  • Support teams with prototyping and concept evaluation for desirability and feasibility.
  • Facilitate best practices in innovation through internal and external networks.
  • Coach and guide teams on problem identification, brainstorming, and innovation sprint methodologies.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design or related field, ideally from a NASAD-accredited institution.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial design, product development, or related roles.
  • Expertise in sketching, virtual and physical modeling, graphic design, and 2D/3D software.
  • Proven ability to translate consumer needs into innovative product and packaging solutions.
  • Strong project management and facilitation skills.
  • Proficiency in prototyping, including hands-on use of model shop tools.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and large-scale projects.
  • Familiarity with design practices and innovation tools in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Track record of driving trend analysis and applying findings to product innovation.
  • Experience mentoring or coaching teams on design and prototyping.

Pay: $22.75 – $32.50 /hr.
