What You Will Be Doing:

The Health Information Technology Specialist will develop, implement, and evaluate health information technology applications and processes to assist clinical and research faculty and staff with data management. This role involves translating biomedical information needs, designing informatics solutions, and collaborating with health informatics specialists to improve clinical and research outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Application Development: Develop, implement, or evaluate health information technology applications, tools, and processes to assist with data management (20%).

Translation of Needs: Translate biomedical information needs and data management requirements between clinicians and systems engineers using object-oriented models or other techniques (15%).
-
Informatics Science Application: Use informatics science to design or implement health information technology applications addressing clinical, research, and healthcare challenges (15%).

Knowledge Application: Apply knowledge of health science, information science, and informatics theory to clinical practice, education, administration, or research in collaboration with other health informatics specialists (15%).

Data Analysis: Analyze and interpret information systems data to improve research and clinical services (10%).

Data Collection: Identify, collect, record, or analyze data relevant to clinical research and care (5%).

Solution Design: Design, develop, select, test, implement, and evaluate new or modified informatics solutions and decision-support mechanisms within healthcare contexts (5%).

Technology Analysis: Analyze computer and information technologies to determine their applicability to clinical practice, education, operations, and research (5%).

Policy Development: Develop strategies, policies, or procedures for introducing, evaluating, or modifying information technology applied to clinical practice, education, administration, or research (5%).

Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned (5%).
Required Skills & Experience:

Education: MD, DO, PharmD, RN, PhD; or Master’s degree with five years of relevant experience and/or formal informatics certification.

Experience: Demonstrated experience working on projects related to clinical decision support, medical terminologies, health information systems, or health-related applications.
Desired Skills & Experience:
-
Advanced knowledge of health information technology applications.

Familiarity with data management tools and methodologies.

Experience in clinical research environments and understanding of regulatory compliance.

Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data sets.
Pay: $84.00 – $120.00 /hr.
