What You Will Be Doing:
The Engineer 2 in the Product Health team involves designing, developing, and maintaining data-driven systems supporting customer and loyalty data across cloud-based platforms. This position focuses on data modeling, SQL tuning, and integrating security practices to ensure high-performance, scalable solutions aligned with business needs. You will be part of a technical team responsible for a suite of applications and services, supporting Renter and Loyalty capabilities, using technologies such as Restful APIs, AWS Cloud, React, Oracle, and Teradata.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing, developing, and maintaining data-driven systems supporting customer and loyalty profile information.
- Building scalable, secure solutions that make customer and loyalty data accessible to internal services and third-party systems.
- Performing data modeling, SQL tuning, and data analysis to support business and technical requirements.
- Working with cloud-based platforms (ideally AWS) for data integration, deployment, and storage optimization.
- Collaborating with analysts, engineers, and technical leads to manage a suite of applications supporting renter and loyalty capabilities.
- Participating in Agile ceremonies and contributing to continuous improvement within the team.
- Supporting backend services, APIs, and data pipelines as part of the Product Health technical team.
Required Skills & Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in Data Model design and SQL development, including complex tuning and analysis.
- Proficiency with Teradata, including familiarity with DDL statements, and experience in data warehousing environments.
- Strong data analysis and data modeling skills, with knowledge of methodologies and best practices.
- Experience in data software engineering, preferably with Java, and familiarity with Big Data technologies.
- Hands-on experience with relational databases such as Oracle SQL.
- Understanding of cloud platforms, ideally AWS or Azure, for data integration and deployment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate within a team to deliver complex data solutions.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Experience with API development and familiarity with build automation tools like Git and Jenkins.
- Knowledge of NoSQL databases and Big Data tools beyond traditional RDBMS.
- Prior experience in the vehicle or rental industry, particularly in IT rental domains.
- Experience working within Agile development methodologies.
- Certifications in cloud platforms, data engineering, or security are a plus.
Pay: $49.00 – $70.00 /hr.
