What You Will Be Doing:
We are seeking a Data Engineer to join a team focused on developing agricultural solutions for a sustainable future. This role involves transforming complex scientific datasets into innovative software that accelerates crop system development.
- Be a critical senior member of a data engineering team focused on creating distributed analysis capabilities around a large variety of datasets
- Take pride in software craftsmanship, apply a deep knowledge of algorithms and data structures to improve and innovate continuously
- Work with other top-level talent solving a wide range of complex and unique challenges that have real-world impact
- Explore relevant technology stacks to find the best fit for each dataset
- Pursue opportunities to present our work at relevant technical conferences
Required Skills & Experience:
- 7+ years in software engineering
- 2+ years of experience with Go
- Experience with RESTful API development
- Apache Kafka stream processing
- Unit Testing, Test Driven Development
- Experience with Docker and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Data modeling for large-scale databases (relational or NoSQL)
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Experience with protocol buffers, gRPC
- Google Cloud Platform, Apache Beam, Kubernetes
- Experience with scientific datasets or bioinformatics
- Knowledge of quantitative science applications
Pay: $77 – $110 /hr.
