What You Will Be Doing:
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with State and Federal regulations as an underground utility owner. You will review and evaluate incoming locate requests using a specialized software application to determine if a field locate is required. Your primary goal is to ensure the protection of company assets from damage on the electric distribution system while maintaining regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Use an online Ticket Management System and mapping tools to review, status, or assign 811 ticket requests within prescribed timelines.
- Communicate effectively with excavators, locate contractors, and company personnel regarding underground electric facilities.
- Identify deficiencies or errors in map systems and communicate them to the mapping team for correction.
- Perform locate ticket status audits utilizing post-locate photos to enhance oversight of contractor performance and mitigate risk.
- Identify opportunities to improve ticket management behaviors for both internal and external excavators.
- Perform field audits and other duties as assigned.
- Support emergency call-outs outside of normal business hours, including storm response and third-party damages.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Associate Degree (required for conversion) or a GIS Certificate.
- Proven experience in GIS mapping, underground utility locating, or surveying.
- Ability to read and interpret mapping systems, legal land descriptions, plats, and aerial photographs.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Proficiency with PC applications, including the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience working with digital records.
- Background in print reading or real estate.
- Prior experience with MO811 locate request tools.
Pay: $16.10 – $23.00 /hr.
