What You Will Be Doing:
We seek a skilled Bioinformatics Scientist to perform in-depth bioinformatics assessments of Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) assays. The role includes collaborating closely with the Postmarket Surveillance Department to investigate customer complaints regarding assay performance and design experiments to evaluate the effects of sequence variants on assays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct bioinformatics assessments of proprietary PCR assays.
- Investigate, develop, and implement new methods and technologies to advance projects.
- Collaborate with Postmarket Surveillance to analyze assay performance, investigate customer complaints, and design future improvements.
- Make detailed observations, interpret data, and communicate experimental results to R&D and other departments.
- Prepare technical protocols, reports, and executive summaries.
- Ensure that laboratory notebooks and documentation meet quality standards.
- Stay updated with current scientific literature and industry standards.
- May participate in scientific conferences and contribute to journals.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline is required.
- Master's degree in Bioinformatics or a related field is preferred.
- Recent MS degree and 0-2 years of experience.
- Working knowledge of molecular biology techniques including PCR.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Working knowledge of Sequence database(s).
- Demonstrated proficiency in project planning, execution, and documentation
Pay: $23.80 – $34 /hr.
