Our client is currently seeking a talented person for a Manager - Vehicle Management (Databases).

The company IT is a critical area of the business; we develop technical solutions that power our global operations and a fleet of 2 million vehicles, allowing our branch employees to exceed our customers' expectations.
What You Will Be Doing:
You will act as the ambassador of change to the team and to those teams we interact with, making strong communication and relationship building skills paramount. You will be directly responsible for people management activities, including career planning/support, training, interviewing, hiring, rewarding, coaching, and performance and salary reviews. You will be responsible for developing and retaining strong performers and preparing them for future responsibilities. You will also identify, develop, and implement policies, standards, and procedures that support team activities, and lead individuals in adhering to and supporting these procedures. Strong leadership skills will be key, with the ability to build, maintain and energize a cohesive team.

Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. Without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
6+ years of related IT experience
2+ years of resource management experience, to include managing, coaching, mentoring, and developing people
Basic knowledge and understanding of Agile/iterative methodologies and practices
Must be able to rapidly establish and maintain strong working relationships with peers, vendors, senior management, and other departments within IT
Must have experience in acting as an ambassador of change for a team
Must possess top-notch people skills and the ability to effectively set and articulate job responsibilities, performance goals and standards to develop strong performers
Must have experience in evaluating individual performance against goals, and provide meaningful and constructive feedback/coaching to the people that they manage
Must have excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Must have ability to effectively lead teams in executing on and pivoting between multiple simultaneous high-priority efforts
Must be able to identify gaps and/or barriers to success, and articulate those findings to leadership
Must be able to effectively manage problems and conflict as they occur
Must be detail oriented with strong problem solving and time management skills
Must have a professional attitude, a strong desire and ability to take ownership, ability to provide high quality customer service, and a willingness to expend extra effort to achieve optimal results
Must have a flexible schedule to accommodate periodic after-hours and weekend response to incidents when necessary
Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities
It Would Be Great, but Not Required, if You Had:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred
Experience in or led teams that manage Oracle database technologies, paired with at least one of the following database technologies: MSSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, PostreSQL, ETL (Informatica, SAS, SSIS) or other open DB's
Experience working with AIX, Linux and Microsoft server platforms
Experience using an Issue and Project Tracking tool, such as JIRA
