Our client is currently seeking a talented Engineer 3, Data.
What You Will Be Doing:
As an Engineer 3 on Database Performance, you will design, develop and modify many different elements of technology. You will be required to understand advanced methods, theories and research techniques that establish ongoing direction and implementation of the technology vision and strategy. As an Engineer 3, we will be looking to you as a subject matter expert in multiple areas of technology that will represent your team in a positive manner within and outside of your department. You will be leading analyses and providing viable recommendations for the company's solutions. You will be providing instruction and guidance to less senior team members; ensuring deadlines are met. You will also be required to monitor key performance metrics to ensure compliance of established standards, processes, and procedures.
As an Engineer 3 on Database Performance, you will be responsible for the detailed analysis and tuning of SQL and databases across various database platforms. You will also be responsible for seeking out opportunities for process augmentation, standardization, architectural improvements to existing platforms, and then proposing recommendations to developers and architects while partnering with team members on implementation.
In this role you will perform query optimization, database right-sizing for CPU and internal memory pool components, schema design considerations, application coding techniques, network throughput/configurations, storage architectures and transactional boundary strategies to support required application SLAs ensuring scalability.

Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. Without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
5+ years of related experience
3+ years of combined experience working with multiple RDBMS platforms (Oracle, Microsoft SQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, etc.)
1+ years' experience with scripting languages
Professional data engineering experience in a complex data environment
Ability to identify, analyze and address problems to resolve issues whenever possible in a way that minimizes negative impact and risk to the organization
Must have strong communication skills to effectively communicate with various IT teams and business representatives
Must have good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Must be able to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, team-oriented environment
Must have experience in full lifecycle development and end-to-end testing
Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities
Must have the ability to work an on-call rotation
It Would Be Great, But Not Required, If You Had:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems or related field preferred
Experience working with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Experience with database continuous integration and continuous deployment methodologies
Experience with functional programming and functional programming design patterns
Experience writing and tuning complex SQLs, and the ability to analyze and make recommendations on results
Knowledge and working experience with Agile methodologies
Experience with the following tools: OEM/SQL Server Mgmt Studio/PGAdmin/MySQL Workbench/Dynatrace/Precise
Experience working with Unix, Linux, PL/SQL and Excel
