Our client is currently seeking a talented person for an Engineer 2 Usability position.

What You Will Be Doing:

You will assist in production and ownership of UI standards including navigation elements, templates, graphics, and icons. You will define goals and requirements in collaboration with product owners and stakeholders. You will also define Visual and Interactive User Experience. You will work effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure that designs are successfully created and implemented to achieve user goals. You will ensure continuous and collaborative communication between design, architecture and development teams to ensure crisp integration of front-end design to back-end functionality. You will develop expert-level knowledge of competitive and complementary design strategies to ensure a "best approach" design with every project. You will also create and evaluate interaction models, user task flows, screen designs, and UI details that promote ease of use and optimize the user experience. You will create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, high fidelity mockups, and detailed UI and visual design specifications (redlines) for web and potentially mobile. You will actively participate in usability testing and interpret analytics data. You will present design work to the product team, engineering team, and business stakeholders for review and feedback. You will create reusable widgets and componentry. You will work with product stakeholders to translate vision and concept into demonstrable and adaptable user interface presentations. You will communicate the benefits of particular UI designs to technical and non-technical audiences. You will also create promotional materials across a variety of media including brochures and artwork.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future

  • Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities

  • 3+ years of experience as a UX/Interaction designer, or related experience

  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and XD, or other similar UX related tools

  • Sound design fundamentals: color theory, visual hierarchy, typography and iconography

  • Strong portfolio featuring design work that showcases visual and interaction design

  • Comfortable designing responsive experiences from mobile, tablet and desktop

  • Complete understanding of product lifecycle

  • Expert knowledge of interface and interaction design

  • Experience and knowledge of UX best practices

  • Experience of usability evaluation methods

  • Exceptional eye for detail, ensuring quality of the design is upheld from concept to release

  • Act as a continuous learner who actively seeks out and gives feedback to improve the experience

  • Flexibility, curiosity and ability to embrace complex design problems

  • Ability to present work with confidence to a variety of audiences and make design decisions based on research

  • Proven experience developing UI for commercial web based software application

  • Prototyping, wireframes, storyboards, mock-ups and 'clickware'

  • Previous experience of Browser compatibility issues

  • Responsive design and working with mobile-first objectives

  • Ability to liaise with key stakeholders and users

  • Good communication skills, including the ability to communicate to both a technical and nontechnical audience

It Would Be Great, but Not Required, if You Had:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred

  • Experience designing business enterprise web applications or new software products a plus

  • Experience of working in an Agile/Scrum development environment and working within sprint teams.

  • Basic knowledge in HTML, CSS, Angular, and/or other common UI frameworks, so you have an understanding of what is realistic and can collaborate with develop
