Our client is currently seeking a talented Engineer 2, Systems (VMware).
What You Will Be Doing:
You will be responsible for using your technical knowledge of professional concepts to solve business problems. We are looking for a talented individual that can serve as a subject matter expert in their area of focus and represent their department on complex assignments. You will be responsible for evaluating elements of technology's effectiveness through requirements gathering, testing, research and investigation and make recommendations for improvements that result in increased quality and effectiveness. You will be required to listen to and evaluate customer needs to determine and provide high quality solutions that align with customer expectations.
As an Engineer 2, on the x86 Virtual Compute team, you will be responsible for incident management and mitigation while streamlining day-to-day operational tasks through the use of scripting and automation techniques. You will support the Internal Private Cloud virtual infrastructure and service catalogs, and perform continuous improvements to the virtual infrastructure while working with other senior level staff. You will provide incident and problem resolution for complex issues, perform disaster recovery exercises, and work closely with Product Engineering to enhance the company's internal private cloud.

Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. Without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
3 years of related experience
1 year of experience administering VMware vSphere 6.X infrastructure using VMware provided tools
1 year of experience administering Windows and/or Linux related infrastructure
1 year of experience administering VMware environments using PowerCLI
Must be able to work an on-call rotation, every 7-8 weeks
Must be interested in exploring new technologies, and have a desire to push your skillset outside of your comfort zone
Must be able to prioritize projects and tasks while adhering to the overall Information Technology standards
Must be capable of leading meeting and discussions such as support case reviews or project team meetings
Demonstrated customer service support ethic and focus to deliver the highest, most consistent level of customer service to our customers and partners
Experience in all phases of the development lifecycle, including use of formal requirement documentation, testing methodologies, implementation strategies, and troubleshooting techniques
Flexible to facilitate an on-call rotation schedule for incident response and maintenance activities
Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities
It Would Be Great, But Not Required, If You Had:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred
Experience operating in an Agile development environment
Experience working in large data center deployments
2+ years of experience with VMware value-add products such as vRealize Operations, vSAN, and vRealize Automation
1+ years of experience automating build-related tasks using VMware SDK(s)
Hands on experience working with VCE's Vblock and supporting components (Cisco UCS, Nexus, EMC)
Hands on experience working with Dell EMC hyper converged technologies and supporting components (VxRail and VxRack)
VMware VCP certification(s)
