Our client is currently seeking a talented person for a Director of Research & Development.
What You Will Be Doing:
You will champion the strategy and have a heavy focus on generating enthusiasm for the R&D practice across the business and IT. You will be primarily responsible for the facilitation of innovative capabilities from conception to pilot with a focus on driving value fast. You will work closely with the CIO and other key leaders from across the organization to align R&D activities with strategic imperatives and will be responsible for building awareness around a brand that fosters a culture of ongoing innovation, inclusivity, and transparency. You will be providing strategic leadership and influence at the executive level will be necessary to ideate around the technical capability and associated business use cases that are really going to make a difference to existing business lines and new business.
What We Are Looking For:
Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. Without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
Must reside or be willing to relocate to St. Louis, MO
10+ years of consulting or relevant experience required (strategy or innovation experience preferred)
Experience in building and leading integrated and high performing development teams
Must exhibit a leadership style that exhibits strategic thinking, collaboration, direct communication and results orientation
Proven success in people management
Demonstrates executive-level written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal and collaborative skills
Superb relationship management skills, specifically around leading change with the ability to create a non-adversarial atmosphere and be viewed as a partner
Proven track record to innovate with speed and agility
Must have the ability to position oneself effectively as a thought leader in the areas of IT Strategy and R&D by communicating related concepts with poise
Proven ability to manage in a complex operating environment, including multiple vendors and agile teams Significant and extensive leadership, management and team-building of IT professionals and leaders
Protects our customers, our employees, and our brands by incorporating security and compliance in all decisions; ensures security policy and procedure requirements are met; continuously identifies opportunities for improving security and implements strategies to improve our security posture
It Would Be Great, but Not Required, if You Had:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred
Experience working within a corporate innovation team
