Technology Partners is currently seeking a talented person for an SQL Tuning Engineer w/Teradata position in St. Louis, Missouri.



What You Will Be Doing:

You will be responsible for using your technical knowledge of professional concepts to solve business problems. We are looking for a talented individual that can serve as a subject matter expert in their area of focus and represent their department on complex assignments. You will be responsible for evaluating elements of technology's effectiveness through requirements gathering, testing, research, and investigation and make recommendations for improvements that result in increased quality and effectiveness. You will be required to listen to and evaluate customer needs to determine and provide high-quality solutions that align with customer expectations.



As an Engineer 2 you will be designing, developing, testing, implementing and supporting moderate to complex components within the Data Warehouse. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining ETL processes and providing reporting solutions from multiple sources. A primary responsibility of this position will be evaluating elements of the technology's effectiveness and make recommendations for improvements that result in increased quality and effectiveness as well as acting towards resolution. This will include ETL processing, business reporting tools, performance tuning and job scheduling with an understanding of dependencies. Additional responsibilities include supporting and completing scheduled deployments and participating in the 24x7 on-call rotation for the team's production environments. You will be required to listen to and evaluate customer needs to determine and provide high-quality solutions that align with our business partner's expectations.



What We Are Looking For:

  • ******C2C Not Allowed, must be our W2. Work must be done in St. Louis, no relo.

  • 2+ years of Data Warehouse Teradata developer experience

  • 3+ years of experience with data-driven and event-driven ETL processes

  • 3+ years of experience with SQL and stored procedure development

  • 2+ years of experience with tools including TWS, SAS and SAS DI

  • Experience writing advanced SQL and performance tuning of Teradata queries

  • Must have experience with writing Unix scripts and BTEQ scripts

  • Must have strong communication skills both written and verbal

  • Highly organized, detail oriented and ability to multi-task

  • Strong team player and able to work independently

  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills

  • Provide accurate and timely problem resolution with root cause analysis

  • Ability to identify and resolve data related issues

  • Must possess resiliency and flexibility in the face of changing priorities and requirements

  • Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities



It Would Be Great, but Not Required, if You Had:

  • Bachelor's degree and minimum of three years of related experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Knowledge of Informatica ETL tool and/or Hadoop

  • Experience with Hadoop technologies, specifically HortonWorks Data Platform

  • Experience developing and maintaining Business Intelligence reporting solutions

  • Experience with Git, Atlassian Suite, and Jenkins is preferred

  • Experience using a source code repository such as BitBucket
