Technology Partners is currently seeking a talented person for an SQL Server DBA position.



What You Will Be Doing:

You will ensure all database servers are backed up in a way that meets the business's Recovery Point Objectives. You will test backups to ensure we can meet the business' Recovery Time Objectives (RTO). You will also troubleshoot SQL Server service outages as they occur, including after-hours and weekends. You will configure SQL Server monitoring utilities to minimize false alarms. You will install and configure new SQL Servers ,including database backup/restores, Daily checks, maintenance tasks and applying service packs. You will be creating, maintaining, and optimizing database objects (e.g. views, catalogs, and triggers). You will test and Deploy database change scripts provided by third party vendors. When performance issues arise, you will determine the most effective way to increase performance including server configuration changes, or index/query changes. You will document the company's database environment. You will also manage and escalate problems as appropriate.



What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline required

  • Minimum of five years progressive IT experience to include, Windows Server 2008/2012 Administration, with 2-3 years focused on MS SQL Administration. These include installation, configuration, optimization and maintenances of SQL Server 2005/2008/2012/2014 and 2016 in Production Environment.

  • Must have strong operational support experience of Microsoft SQL Server in an Enterprise Windows environment by possessing the ability to troubleshoot MS SQL Server performance issues and provide solution/suggestion on how to solve/prevent reoccurrence of the issues.

  • Minimum 1 year experience with MS-Reporting Services (SSRS), including Report designing, development and management

  • Minimum 1 year experience with MS-Integration Services (SSIS) includes the ability to develop, maintain and manage complex SSIS packages.

  • Experience of providing production support activities for business critical databases/applications

  • Experience in working with ticket systems and an understanding of priorities and SLA's.

  • Strong documentation and technical writing skills

  • Must have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Good communication skills
