Technology Partners is currently seeking a talented person for a Consultant, Software Engineering (Speciality) position.

What You Will Be Doing:

You will create solutions with high level of innovation, cost effectiveness, high quality, and fast time to market. You will play a key role in day to day system development and maintenance activities of the team to meet service level agreements (SLAs). You will also contribute to the overall strategy and manage complex issues within functional areas of expertise. You will develop an overall strategic technical plan and create architecture proposals based on identified solution gaps, including planning, design, and implementation of technical solutions. You will create solution definition and solution architecture. You will also assist Management in Business Case Development and Scenario Planning leading to an effective decision-making process. You will also assist in making presentations to the Management, Business Owners and other Stakeholders.

You will assist in examining commercially available and forthcoming industry technologies related to the area of expertise. You will research on current and upcoming technologies and application appropriate frameworks and provide recommendations to Management. You will perform PoCs (Proof of Concept) and help Department in the selection of Technology. You will assist technical leads to create and maintain solution and technology roadmaps. You will partner with Project Managers in the implementation of processes per the evolving needs of the team and the platform. You will assist in creating detailed cost and time estimates for implementing business solutions, defining technical scope and requirements of the project and helping project manager with managing scope during the lifecycle of the project. You will identify Quality methodology and help define Quality Metrics for the Team. You will partner with technical leads to define and implement Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes in the department. You will assist in vendor selection and RFI/RFP process.

You will ensure adequate test coverage in Unit Testing, System Testing/Integration Testing, and Performance Testing. You will perform Quality Inspections and Walkthroughs throughout the SDLC including Requirements Review, Architecture Review, Design Review, Code Review and Security Review to ensure compliance with standards. You will co-ordinate offshore development and manage the day to day activities. You will support collection and reporting of project and software metrics. You will actively look for opportunities to enhance standards and improve process efficiency. You will mentor and guide other team members during all phases of the SDLC.

You will successfully lead production incident and problem management, identification of root cause and remediation of the problems. You will mentor, coach and assist project team members. You will provide Brownbag sessions on new and upcoming technologies, methodologies and frameworks. You will also provide technical training to the team. Assist with selection of technical resources for the projects. You will ensure compliance with the defined standards. You will actively look for opportunities to modify and enhance standards per the needs of the department. You will develop documentation templates, enforce development of documentation throughout the development lifecycle of the solution.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 5 to 8 years of experience in related field, including experience delivering secure solutions in Financial Services Sector is preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of Software Engineering Concepts and Methodologies are required.
  • Ability to be high-energy, detail-oriented, proactive and able to function under pressure in an independent environment along with a high degree of initiative and self-motivation to drive results.
  • Strong communication skills -- both verbal and written - and strong relationship, collaboration skills, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn and implement new technologies, frameworks, and tools and support multiple concurrent activities and to interface with external/internal resources, working as a member of a matrix based diverse and geographically distributed project team.
  • Understanding of basic cryptography principles and web security standards. Ability to design and implement solutions to operate in a replicated environment with multiple live sites. Able to identify potential design issues related to replication delays.

It Would Be Great, but Not Required, if You Had:

  • SAFE or Agile experience

  • Development/Agile tools experience - Fusion, Jira, Confluence, Bamboo, SVN, GIT, SOAPUI Pro, Rally

  • IDE tools - Eclipse, IntelliJ experience a plus

  • Web Service development experience (REST/JSON, SOAP)

  • Java

  • Spring

  • Oracle - SQL, PLSQL (tuning and performance tuning desirable)

  • Linux

  • Shell Scripting

  • JBoss Web framework expertize

  • Camel (a plus)

  • Test Driven Development

  • JavaScript (JQuery/Angular JS)

  • Microservices

  • CICD Principles
